Matthew 4:12-23

When fear, numbness, and injustice feel overwhelming, Jesus still speaks two simple words: “Follow me.” In a world that hides pain in the shadows, God’s light breaks through. The same light Isaiah promised. The same light the Psalmist trusted. The same light Jesus carried into Galilee after John was imprisoned and hope seemed lost. The fishermen didn’t hesitate. They dropped their nets and followed the One who taught, healed, and showed a different way to live — not by fear, but by love, courage, and justice. The Kingdom of Heaven has come near. The invitation is still the same. “Follow me.”
