Matthew 22:15-22
In a world filled with political division, competing loyalties, and voices demanding our allegiance, Jesus reminds us of a powerful truth: We bear the image of God, and our ultimate allegiance belongs to God. As we navigate another contentious election season, how do we balance our civic responsibilities with our Christian identity? Are we reflecting God’s love, justice, and mercy in the way we treat our neighbors—even those with whom we disagree? Are we putting the needs of the most vulnerable first? And are we remembering that no political party, platform, or earthly power deserves the devotion that belongs to God alone? This week, take some time to reflect and pray: Whom do you ultimately serve? May we live as people who bear God’s image, extend Christ’s love, and work toward a world that better reflects God’s kingdom.
