Matthew 19:13-15
In a world that often overlooks the vulnerable, Jesus reminds us that God’s kingdom belongs to those society pushes aside. When the disciples tried to keep children away, Jesus stopped them and said, “Let the little children come to me.” In doing so, he showed us something radical: when we welcome the least, the overlooked, and the powerless, we are welcoming Christ himself. Scripture calls us to care for those who need protection—the child, the immigrant, the widow, the struggling neighbor. God’s love is not cautious or selective; it is bold, compassionate, and welcoming. And Jesus calls the church to embody that same radical hospitality. This Lent, ask yourself: where might God be inviting you to take a risk in love? Who in your community needs welcome, care, and protection? The good news is that God has already welcomed us—and now we are invited to extend that same grace to others.
