Matthew 6:9-13

What does it really mean to pray, “Lead us, not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”? This week, we’re reminded that God isn’t trying to lead us into temptation—God is leading us toward a better way. Prayer tunes our hearts to God’s direction, helping us recognize the paths that lead us away from love, grace, and justice. And notice that Jesus teaches us to pray “lead US,” not “lead ME.” Following God isn’t only about our individual choices. It’s about how we treat one another, whether we resist the temptation to dehumanize others, and whether we have the courage to speak up when we see harm being done. May we open our hearts to God’s leading, resist the paths that pull us away, and trust God to rush to our side when we need help.
