Matthew 5:1-12
Who does God call “blessed”? Not the powerful. Not the comfortable. But the poor, the grieving, the meek, the merciful, the peacemakers, and those who stand for what is right—even when it costs them. Jesus paints a picture of God’s kingdom that turns the world upside down. And Micah reminds us it’s not complicated: do justice, love kindness, walk humbly with God. In a world obsessed with power, we are called to mercy. In a world that pushes people down, we are called to lift others up. In a world full of noise, we are called to live the Beatitudes. This week, pray about how you can be part of God’s vision of mercy and kindness for someone who is struggling under the weight of this world.
