Luke 7:36-50
On this Second Sunday of Lent, we reflect on a powerful truth: God’s love is extravagant, and it reaches far beyond the boundaries we often draw. In the story, a woman labeled only as “a sinner” shows extraordinary love and devotion to Jesus, while a respected religious leader fails to offer even basic hospitality. Through this moment, Jesus reminds us that loving God and loving our neighbor are inseparable. We don’t get to decide who is worthy of love—God’s grace is bigger than our judgments. This Lent, we’re invited to ask ourselves: Who might God be calling us to love more boldly? The overlooked. The rejected. The people the world says are unworthy. May this season move us to love others with the same fierce, extravagant grace that God shows us every day.
