Matthew 18:21-35
How many times should we forgive? Jesus’ answer to Peter is essentially: Stop counting. Start forgiving. In a world that tells us justice means getting even and that forgiveness is impractical, Jesus offers another way. We forgive because we have been forgiven. We extend mercy because we have received mercy. And we lead with grace because God’s love has been extended to us without measure. Forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing harm or pretending wrongs don’t matter. It means placing our hurts in God’s hands and trusting that mercy—not vengeance—is the deepest truth about God. This week, may we ask ourselves: What would change if we stopped keeping score and started leading with grace?
