Matthew 21:33-46
On World Communion Sunday, we gather with Christians around the world to remember why Communion matters: even when we reject God’s way of love, peace, justice, and mercy, God keeps reaching out to us. In Jesus’ parable of the vineyard, the rejected stone becomes the cornerstone. And that is the good news: God does not give up on us. Christ continues to meet us with forgiveness, grace, and another opportunity to turn toward the path of love. As we share Communion today, may we remember that we are part of a global family called to bear good fruit—choosing justice over injustice, peace over violence, humility over pride, and love over hatred. The cornerstone has been rejected, but it has not been destroyed. Christ is still building something beautiful with us.
